The Junker Ju87 Stuka became one of the most infamous aircrafts of World War II. It gained its fame during the opening actions of the Second World War, as well as in the Spanish Civil War. During the opening phases of World War II, the Stuka achieved noteriety through its great accuracy, as well as the psychological effect of the trumpet device on the undercarriage legs, this device made a wailing noise as the aircraft dived. However, by the time of the Battle of Britain, the Stuka was hopelessly outclassed when faced with effective fighter opposition.
